Happy Birthday Laine!

Laine turned three today - hard to believe! She had a great birthday party with friends yesterday at Des Peres Park, and family flew in from Florida today to continue the celebration.

The water tower was a big hit!

And the playground was not too bad either!

Birthday, cont'd.

Excitedly watching as the candles are lit.

She got them all the first time!

Yummy! No sugar-free stuff this year!!

Laine carried her balloons around with her all day and even fell asleep in her bed holding onto them last night.

Grant's Farm

We went with some new friends from Covenant to Grant's Farm last week. Laine hadn't been in a couple years, so it was fun to see her get excited about everything.

She and Chloe hung out all morning, which is wonderful for me because Laine loves Chloe, and Chloe is a great helper!

Proof that Mead does join us on all our adventures. What a good sport!

Self-Feeding

Mead has been getting one bottle a day lately - mostly because I can't keep up with her appetite by the end of the day! She has quickly learned how to hold on tight and makes sure she gets it all.

Carpet picnic

Laine's gotten really good at entertaining herself for stretches of time. Here's what I found her doing the other day...

Getting Settled

Well, we've been in our house for about a week now... and without the internet for as much time. But now we're back online, so here's a photo update of the house. We still have boxes full of frames and decorations for the walls, but the major stuff is in place. Take a look!

The white part to the left is the garage. The front door is towards the right, and the house extends back on the right side.

Here's our living room with tons of windows, which we love. The windows and doors on the right connect to the kitchen since this room was once an exterior sun room.

Laine's room with her purple and green polka dots. Eventually the girls can share the room if the room if they want to.

Here's our room, which is somewhat vacant at the moment. We have a nice closet and a bathroom though, so we're excited about that.

There are other parts to the house, but these are the only pictures I've taken so far. Come see us and get the complete tour! We're so thankful for the opportunity to live here and enjoy the proximity to work and school.

On the move

In more ways than one we are on the move these days. We are now living in our new house and slowly getting settled. Hopefully I'll get some pictures posted soon of our surroundings.

Also, Mead is making progress in getting from one place to another. She has begun "commando" crawling on her belly, using mostly her arms. Her legs just kick out behind her in mid air. It's really fun to see her go after something she wants on the floor.

New car seat

Laine is getting bigger - almost too big for her current car seat. So I did some research and found the one I wanted. Then is was up to her to pick the style. Here's what she decided on... pick with Aloha flowers!! She loves it and is so excited to use it, especially the cool cup holders. We've had some training on the importance of not unbuckling herself, and I think she is finally catching on. Here's to girly families!!

Fourth of July Celebration

This year for the Fourth of July we participated in the First Annual (or occasional) Gulf Drive Cornhole Tournament! It was a blast to hang out, grill out, and enjoy the afternoon together.

Laine in her festive colors!

Notice Penny sporting his new Cardinals hat - we're official fans now that we're going to be long-term St. Louis residents.

For those who don't know Cornhole is a game where you toss bean bags into a board with a hole. There are rules and strategies which make it a lot of fun.

Summer fun

Some of us in Gulf Drive have been exploring the sights of St. Louis each Wednesday morning. This past week we went to the zoo to see the sting rays, ride the carousel, and play at ZooImagination. Good times!

We will really miss the instant community of Gulf Drive when we move next week. Thankfully we're not moving far, so we can keep the playdates going.
