End of the School Year

Laine and her classmates participated in the closing chapel at school this year. They led the whole school and audience in a song. It was so cute!

We'll miss school this summer - Laine loves time with her friends, and her teacher is fabulous. Next year she'll be going five days a week in the afternoon to junior kindergarten. Looking forward to it!

7 months

Cole is 7 months old today - where does the time go?! He's doing great: eating baby food regularly, making all kinds of noises, and laughing hysterically at his sisters when they play with him.

His newest trick is sitting up... kind of. It lasts for all of about 5 seconds at the moment, but he's making slow progress. I think he's about 20 pounds now - he feels heavy to me!

He still doles out the most wonderful smiles at anyone who looks his way. So precious. We love you, Cole!

Bubbles

Mead got out the bubbles the other day and began blowing.

She ended up with so many bubbles on her mouth that she started blowing them without the stick!

6 months

Cole turned turned 6 months old on April 27th, but I just took him in for his check-up today. He weighs 19 pounds (70%), which is right on track for doubling his birth weight. He is 27.25 inches long (71%), and his head is 45.5 cm round (88%). All in all he is a healthy little (or big) guy!

His most recent activities include finding his feet and rolling both directions. We are practicing sitting up, but he still almost folds in half if I'm not holding him. He's a little slow on the movement milestones, but I am totally okay with that. I've already experienced an early mover (Laine) so not having to chase down my third child yet is kind of nice!

Cole also started eating baby food this month. He was a little unsure of it the first time, but he's caught on pretty quickly. He gets really excited to see the bowl and spoon coming toward him, ready for a yummy snack.

Let's go fly a kite!

My most recent trip to Wal-Mart included purchasing a kite for the girls. We've been talking about getting one for a while, so one windy day last week we went to pick out the perfect kite.

Turns out kites have gotten a lot more complicated than I remember (two handles, lots of tails, etc.) so we went for the simplest thing we could find, which turned out to be a little girl with googly eyes!

The girls love it, and we've had lots of enjoyable moments getting it up in the air. What a fun, inexpensive family activity!

Rescue me!

Too much love is sometimes, well, a bit overwhelming!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend, mostly relaxing as a family and enjoying time with friends. The girls dyed some eggs - they really like to eat hard boiled eggs too, so several of the eggs didn't make it all the way through the dying process before they got eaten.

As you can tell they were really concentrating hard on getting the colors just right.

Here are the three that ended up being both dyed and glittered.

And here's our newest family picture. I was pleased with how it turned out - everyone was at least looking at the camera!
