Playground fun

We've enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather and gone to the park to play outside several times recently.

Cole is able to climb up the little stairs and slide down all by himself now.

Of course the swing is always a hit, and the girls enjoyed racing each other down the slide.

Daddy's bag

Remember the awesome bag that Penny got a few years ago? The tag line from the company is, "They'll fight over it when you're dead." Well, Cole already has his eyes on it. He loves pulling it out, opening it up and playing with the buckles and all the stuff that falls out.

What is it about men that makes leather bags so attractive? One day, Cole, it'll be yours - but it's going to be a long wait!

Going for a ride

In addition to Thomas the Tank Enginge, Cole also has a great Tonka truck that he loves to play with. More recently, he's discovered he also fits into it just perfectly. He's a fortunate little guy - his sisters love to push him around the house endlessly. Such fun!

Concert

I took Laine to her first concert the other night. We went to see Laura Story - she and her husband are friends of ours from South Carolina. Laine loves her music, so I figured this would be a good "first" experience for her. She was actually torn between staying home and going to bed on time or staying out late for the concert! The concert idea won, though we packed pajamas for the car ride home. Laine had a great time, and we've enjoyed singing Laura's music together even more since then.

Just a few days after we saw Laura she won a Grammy for best Contemporary Christian Music Song. Very exciting!

Thomas the Tank Engine

This has become one of Cole's favorite toys. He got it before he was born - at a baby shower, and now that he is big enough to use it he loves it! The girls push him around the house, and he is slowly figuring out how to push himself. If he is ever cranky this is a quick way to cheer him up - go for a ride on Thomas!

Speaking of tanks, I took Cole (and Mead) to the doctor last week for their check-ups (15 mo. and 3 year). Cole weighed in at 30 lbs 12 oz. (98%), was 32.25 inches (81%), and his head is 49 cm (92%). He is a healthy, BIG boy!

Mead weighed 30 lbs 3 oz (44% - yes, 9 oz. less than her brother!) and was 37.25 inches (46%). She is also healthy, though much more on the average side. She really thinned down this past year - maybe Cole will do the same once he turns 2.

Daddy's hat

Cole found Daddy's hat lying around the other day and immediately decided to try it on. So cute! Go Cards!!
