Pumpkin Carving

Penny is our pumpkin carver. And each year he gets more into it, and we end up with a more impressive looking pumpkin!

Because of the unseasonably cooler weather we've been having, the pumpkin carving took place inside this year. Penny spent his afternoon (while the girls and I went for a bike ride!) working on his "art."

Here's the finished product with the girls in hand, and again all lit up.

Tights

Laine has a couple cute pairs of tights to wear with her dresses this winter. As she has with other clothing items (remember the fuzzy footed pajamas?), she has decided that she wants to wear tights all the time. She has even taken her pajamas off at night in order to wear her tights to bed!

Anyway, she looks cute these days as we have been creatively building outfits to go with the tights. In case you can't tell, these tights have pink and purple snowflakes on them. So fun!

Bath time for two!

Mead is finally steady enough to take a bath in the big bath tub.

Fall Festivals

The last two weekends have been busy with fall festivals. The first was one put on by Laine's school.

Laine and her friend Mya worked on decorating their pumpkins together. Laine also decorated another pumpkin this morning at the fall festival put on by our city, Town and Country.

Mya, her mom, Laine, and I went on a hayride around the church parking lot several times. We had a great time!

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch at Rombach Farms. It was a beautiful fall day, especially after several days of rain we've recently had in St. Louis.

These pumpkins behind us weighed an average of 125 pounds each!

Laine enjoyed looking at the pumpkins and running through the tunnel at the playground, among other things.

As usual, Mead enjoyed going along for the ride. Wouldn't you just love to know what she was thinking?

Pulling Up

Mead is standing tall these days, pulling up on anything and everything. She's actually pulled herself off the ground a few times as she's worked so hard. What strong arms!

Fuzzy footed pajamas

Laine has a new obsession... fuzzy footed pajamas. Between hand-me-downs and a few pairs I picked up along the way here and there over the past couple years she has about seven of these pajamas for the winter.

I pulled them out the other day because our nights have been getting chilly, and Laine hasn't wanted to take them off since then. I took this picture in the middle of the afternoon, after Laine had put on her third pair for the day. She had been to school and everything, but as soon as she came home she wanted to get back in her pajamas!

I guess she just loves how warm and cozy they are. It just takes some coaxing these days to play outside because she has to keep changing out of her pajamas!

What is it about kids and their stuffed animals? I guess they just love the soft squishy feeling they bring!
