Pouty face
Mead loves giving us this look lately. When we do it back to her she can't help but start to smile. So cute!

First day of school!
Laine started school this week - she was so looking forward to it. She is in pre-K, which is the class for four-year-olds, and she goes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

Doctor check-ups
I took the girls to the pediatrician this week for their 4 year and 18 month check-ups. Thankfully everyone is healthy and growing well. Laine is 35 pounds (50th percentile) and 40.5 inches (75th percentile). She is long and lean - Penny and I keep commenting on how tall she's getting. She starts back to school this week - 3 half-days a week. Pictures coming soon.
Mead is almost 25 pounds (40th percentile) and 31.5 inches (40th percentile). Her head is 48 cm (80th percentile). She is a little smaller than average for her age, but she's adorable! Mead babbles a ton but isn't very clear with her words yet. She has maybe 10 words that consistently mean something. One day she'll take off speaking full sentences, I'm sure.
And I had my 30 week doctor visit for the baby. He is growing well, and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm looking forward to cooler weather this fall and already starting to do some nesting projects around the house. He'll be here before we know it!

Here's our what's our window looks like these days. The red tomato was picked about a week ago, and the green ones have been there for a day. You lose, squirrels!

Princesses abound

Laine has loved dressing like a princess for a while. Naturally, Mead has been inspired to join in on the fun. She doesn't quite fit into the outfits yet, but the shoes are a big hit. All day long I hear the click clack of little princess slippers!

Speaking of shoes, Mead has become quite the shoe haus. We recently acquired several really cute pairs of hand-me-down shoes from a friend, and Mead is beside herself. She has very strong opinions about which shoes she wants to wear, and thankfully most of the time she has great taste! I had no idea that an 18 month old could care so much about what is on her feet!!
