Reading to Cole

Mead is such a sweet big sister. She often gives Cole gentle kisses on the head and pats him softly on the tummy.

And the other day she decided to "read" a book to Cole. She plopped right down next him and proceeded to read through an entire book to him. So cute! I think they'll really enjoy playing together when he gets a little older.

Fashion diva

Laine is my trend setter. She can put together the most random pieces of clothing and somehow make it look great! Here's what she wore to school the other day with more confidence than I could ever pull together in an outfit.

I often have to remind myself not to prevent her from dressing herself in "silly" ways. It's a great expression of who she is. Hats off (or on) to you and your cute outfits, Laine!

My little monkey

Just as I suspected Cole started reaching for toys recently.

He's also started cooing a lot.

And of course he still gives great smiles - as soon as he makes eye contact with you his whole face lights up. So cute!

The scary parts

The girls love watching princess movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc. These movies tend to have a "scary part" at some point, so the girls need a little bravery while watching. Recently they've taken to snuggling together for strength. Precious!

Pile on

The girls piled on Daddy while he was sitting in the kitchen, and then they wanted me to take a picture. Here's the series that I got...

I guess technically they're all smiling. They're so much fun!

Hold on tight

Cole has just recently started grabbing things. Up until now his hands have been in little fists most of the time. So today I got out his tagged lovie that he got as a gift, and he grabbed right on. The world of reaching for toys is probably not too far behind!

Birthday gifts

Mead got a couple things that were a big hit this year for her birthday. The first is an indoor trampoline, which both Mead and Laine love. It's been a great source of fun and a good way to let out a little energy from time to time.

And Mead also got some big stringing beads. She has enjoyed making necklaces and meticulously placing each bead on the string in just the right order. It's so neat to see her personality come out in new ways as she gets older.
