Happy Easter!

We did our annual Easter egg hunt in the yard on Saturday, and the kids had a great time, as usual.

They were each assigned two colors of eggs to collect - a trick someone else told us about that has helped eliminate fighting over eggs and having to redistribute the pot later.

And the kids dressed up nicely for Easter morning - which took some convincing this year, but they eventually agreed to cooperate!

Dying Easter Eggs

During spring break the kids and I worked on dying easter eggs - although this year I bought an egg painting kit instead of a dye kit.

They each had three eggs, and they took time painting them carefully!

Fun to see the bright colors when they were done!

Changing appearances

Spring is coming, and with it, a few changes for the kids...

Laine got her ears pierced last week.  She's been asking, so took her in, and she did great!  They look super cute, and she's adjusted to them quickly.

Cole let his hair grow long this winter, but with spring and summer comes sweat - a lot of it!

In just a few minutes he went from shaggy to sharp.  Love the new look!

Things boys do...

Cole has been exploring the outdoors, building forts and fires, and making wood creations lately...

Not really sure what this is, but he was so excited to hammer it together and paint it!

And this fire was entirely for him - I got it started, but he kept it going (with his night vision goggles on, of course!)  He sat outside and enjoyed the fire for over an hour.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The school had its Daddy Daughter Dance last weekend, and both girls were super excited to go.

Everyone looked so nice as they were heading out!  (Cole and I had a Mother/Son evening of fun on our own :-) )

Air Band 2016

The girls participated in the annual airband competition again this year, which is like doing a lip-sync with dancing included.  They both had a great time!

Mead and the first grade girls performed to "Better When I'm Dancing," from the new Peanuts movie.  It was so cute!

And Laine and her friends performed The Brady Bunch Theme Song, which was cleverly put together and executed.  Laine is Marsha, top left corner in the frame.

I love that our kids get the chance to perform in front of such a large crowd, doing things that are fun and building confidence in being in front of an audience!

Snow Day

In the middle of two gorgeous 60/70 degree weekends, the kids had a snow day on Wednesday when it snowed 5 inches overnight.  Kind of crazy!

It was a quick, thick, wet snow, and it melted even faster.  Everything looked so beautiful covered in snow first thing in the morning, but it dropped off the trees within a couple hours.

Mead and I managed to build a snow pyramid with our Sno-Cone buckets.  Until next time...
