Virginia Safari Park

One day while Grammy and Papa were here we went to the Virginia Safari Park, which is about an hour from us.

It includes a walk through petting zoo (though there were some bigger animals in there, too, that couldn't be petted).

There is a walk-in bird cage, and the kids got sticks with bird seed on them so the canaries could climb right on!

They all loved seeing the birds up close.

And we drove through the safari park getting lots of close ups with the animals as they came to our car windows.

Cole thought some of the animals were hilarious!

We were all impressed by the size of the elk.

We were able to reach out and touch a lot of the animals.  It was a lot of fun - definitely worth visiting at some point.
