Laine to the rescue

Laine and her buddy Zach were playing the other day. Zach is all boy, and Laine is becoming more and more "all girl." So when Zach dramatically fell down dead, holding his sword (or kitchen spoon), Laine pulled out her doctor kit to listen to his heart and make sure he was okay! She's not so sure what to do when Zach wants to play Army - this was the best she came up with. Thanks for broadening our play time imagination, Zach!

Mead's Baptism

Mead was baptized this morning! This was a significant time as we took vows promising by God's grace to raise Mead in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. I think the part that especially encourages my heart is when the congregation also promises to come alongside us in helping point our children to Jesus.

The baptism gown that Mead wore is the same one that Laine wore, which is the same one that I wore when I was baptized - what a special heirloom!

Tea Party

Laine was invited to a tea party recently for Maggie's 3rd birthday. It was so fun - and everyone looked great in their royal attire.

Laine was very careful drinking out of her little tea cup.

Ty was Laine's first St. Louis friend - they met each other when they were just weeks old. We will miss them when they graduate this winter, but now we'll have a reason to visit Indianapolis!

Noah and Laine are also classmates at school.

We love Chik-fil-A!

The other night we took Laine to Chik-fil-A for "Princess Night." She dressed up as a princess and got a free kid's meal! What a deal, and she had a great time.

She made this cute crown, and the balloon guy was very talented, giving Laine her own princess balloon. We're so glad to live right down the street from one of the only Chik-fil-A's in town.

Bathtime!

At first Mead wasn't so sure about baths. But now she loves them! We give her a few toys, and she splashes away trying to grab them. So cute!

Joy

I was taking pictures of the girls the other day, and I managed to capture this great smile on Laine's face. She is a girl of many emotions, and when she is excited it is hard not to join in with her joy. I constantly find myself laughing with her, even when I want to be firm in instructing her somehow. Thank you, Laine, for the joy you bring to my life!

Play date friends

Laine had a classmate and church friend over to play recently. We've enjoyed getting to know new families through the church and school, and we're especially thankful for other little girlfriends to spend time with.
