Sweet and Sassy

So a couple months ago I bought two coupons from STLToday.com for a haircut and make-over from Sweet and Sassy.  Here's the girls before using the coupons.

Sweet and Sassy is a salon for kids, especially girls.  You can get your haircut, nails done, make-up, etc.  You can have a birthday party there, and a long pink limo will pick you and your party up to drive you to and from the salon.

Laine has longed for a trip to the salon every time she sees the limo around town.  So, when I found such a good deal ($12!!) I got one for each of the girls.

Mead was first - got her normal haircut, along with the extra hair style and make-up.

Laine went next - so excited!

She added a few layers to her hair and then got a fancy french braid across the back of her head - something I could not possibly do for her!

So cute!  And now they were ready to strut their stuff.

Which they did along the walkway (complete with disco ball) at the back of the salon.

A blurry picture, but look at how excited they were to be pampered!

Here's the "after" picture.  Thank you, STLToday for a great deal.  Please run the coupon again because my girls had a great time!

Matching

I don't have many matching outfits for the girls, but they were given these dresses last year for Christmas.

Even though they are short-sleeved, Laine decided to pull hers out, put a sweater with it, and then convince Mead to join her.  They looked great and were super excited to get dressed quickly on a chilly Sunday morning.  What's not to love about that - made my Sunday morning scramble all that much easier!

More from the Dance

One of the moms helping at the dance took some photos of the kids.  Here's a couple cute shots of Laine dancing...

Father/Daughter Dance

Last weekend was the Father/Daughter Dance at school.  The girls were so excited to get dressed up and go.  They had a great time visiting with friends, taking silly pictures at the photo booth, making crafts, and even dancing a little bit with Daddy!

Thanks, Penny, for taking them out for a special evening.

Airband

Laine performed in Airband at her school last Friday.

The girls lip-synced and danced to "Gold" by Brit Nicole.

They did a great job and had a lot of fun.

Look at those moves!

And, of course, Cole was in the peanut gallery (a.k.a. the aisle) watching everyone going on up front.

Snow day activities

We've had lots of snow days this winter, and lots of ways to spend them.  Yesterday we didn't attempt any sledding but opted to stay home instead.

Laine practiced her dance for Airband - a lip-sync contest that she is participating in at school this week.

She and her friends are dancing to "Gold" by Brit Nicole.  The group is calling themselves The Golden Girls.

She's worked hard to learn the moves and the lyrics - I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes tomorrow!

Mead and Cole ventured outdoors for a little while, attempting to jump on the trampoline but mostly just eating and throwing snow at one another :-)

And the kids also had some time in costumes.  I pulled these out because Cole has been asking to wear the girls' princess dresses lately.  I realized we needed some more "manly" options and got out the Halloween costumes.  A firefighter did the trick for him!

Until the next snow day...

Reading together

The kids got really quiet this afternoon for a while, so I started searching the house to see what they were up to.

To my pleasant surprise, this is what I found: Laine reading to Mead and Cole in her room!  So cool to see them hanging out together like this.

Last weekend I took Cole ice skating for his first time.  He did okay - mostly leaned on the bucket the whole time, but I pushed him around the rink and he loved it.  He kept saying, "Go fast!"  Maybe we'll work on the actual skill of ice skating next year :-)
