Mouse trap

There is no good excuse for the lapse in blogging, but one of the things that has been occupying our time lately is trying to catch a little "critter" that has found its way into the house.  Apparently he likes chocolate chips because he's nibbled holes in several different bags over the past couple weeks.  Our host family is gone for the week, so Penny and I decided to take it upon ourselves to try and actually catch the mouse rather than just blocking the way into the pantry.

Last night we set out several glue traps in the pantry.  This morning one was gone!  The good news is that a mouse must have gotten stuck to it, but the bad news is that the mouse also must have wandered away.  After about half an hour of searching for the missing trap we discovered it... with no mouse attached.  So now we are trying traditional snap traps.  Any tips on how to bait a mouse trap or where to set the trap?  Hopefully this will be resolved soon - it's kind of an eerie feeling to know something is wandering around the house at night.

I hear peanut butter works great -- though I am not sure Penny will want to share with a mouse.
